In July, Kristi went to her doctor for abdominal swelling and discomfort. She was diagnosed with a hernia. A visit to the ER a month later revealed a ruptured ovarian cyst and no evidence of a hernia.
Then on October 6, 2017 Kristi Nordstrom had surgery to remove the cyst. During the surgery, cancer was discovered in her abdominal cavity. It was subsequently learned that this is a recurrence of the cervical cancer she was treated for in 2011, even though she had been continually deemed cancer free since that time. Kristi begins an aggressive chemotherapy regimen in late October.

Kristi has a wonderful family, friends, and a vast network of people who love and support her.  Above all, she appreciates hearing words of hope and encouragement from each one of you, as well as cancer success stories and notes from Navigators.

Unfortunately, cancer not only takes a toll emotionally and physically, but financially as well. If you'd like to support her in this way, funds will be used for transportation and accommodations for her trips to MD Anderson, a new nutrition plan to support her during chemo and to subsidize her household income during her leave from Bee Cave Elementary.
