Kristina's fight for health

I am a family friend of Kristina's and am raising funds to help her family deal with an incredible health struggle Kristina is enduring. Thank you in advance for reading this story... Kristina's story begins in February of 2018. At 19 years old, Kristina worked part time at her church's school. On Valentine's Day, she'd finished helping with a party in the preschool class, and later in the day she became ill... First, her tongue became numb. By the end of the evening, her symptoms had increased so badly, her family called an ambulance. Though receiving emergency medical care, Kristina's condition worsened, at one point leaving the 19-year-old paralyzed and unable to speak. She remained hospitalized for nearly three weeks, while her doctors searched, poked, prodded, drew blood, and desperately searched for answers. Though she began to regain speech during that time, she still struggled with movement, vision, and pain. Kristina remained hospitalized, without answer as to the reason for her sudden illness. As her family and medical team ran low on answers, the hospital eventually discharged Kristina to a rehab facility. Still unable to walk on her own, without full vision, and in tremendous pain, a physician at the rehab facility finally ordered one last test. It was then that she was diagnosed.
