Kristin's Journey To Kick The Big "C"

Today, we are reaching out to you on behalf of Kristin Chaban. Kristin has been suffering with brain tumors for 13 years with 3 surgeries and 2 gamma knives. 3 weeks ago she received shocking news you and I never want to receive. Kristin has been diagnosed with Melanoma. Currently she has 3 brain tumors that are growing very rapidly and have doubled in size since March. One is growing so fast that she has lost control of her left eyelid. Unfortunately for Kristin surgery is not an option. Due to the advancement of the tumor she has needed to leave work unexpectedly and will be off work for at least 3 months. Kristen will not be able to drive during this time to her upcoming treatments, cancer care appointments and/or any other events.
Kristin is a single mother of 2 boys Will, 13 and Alex, 10. The boys are continuously active with hockey, soccer and school sports. Kristin has been involved in ringette for 33 years, the only things more important are her boys. Whether it was playing, timekeeping, shotclocking and/or reffing. She continues to volunteer on ringette boards and committees. She recently just participated as an official in the 2019 Western Canadian Championships in St. Albert, Alberta. Kristin’s mom and sisters are officials and minor officials and have been in involved in the ringette community for many years.
We are asking you to open your hearts in support of Kristin. Her future needs are unknown however we do know she has immediate needs over the next 3 months. She will need help with everyday living expenses, medication costs, travel costs to and from appointments and treatments, and children expenses - just to name few.
