My name is Kristin Robinson and I'm running for library trustee. I live in St James with my 3 amazing children and rescue pup Loki. I am a graduate of College of Charleston with a BS in Business Administration and BS in Hospitality and Tourism Management. My hobbies include reading, sailing, decorating cookies and gardening. The library has always been my favorite place from a very young age. In college I'd spend time between classes wandering the aisles of the library and take in the beautiful aroma of old books. When I moved to our community with a toddler, looking to make local friendships, everyone encouraged me to sign up for the wonderful free library classes. We met some of our best friends over the years and are so thankful we had this safe, fun and educational environment. Unfortunately the future of our most sacred institution is under attack from the far right. They want to ban The Diary of Anne Frank, MLK and accurate American History Books. “There are many little ways to enlarge a child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.” – Jacqueline Kennedy
Please help me save the books from a Fahrenheit 451 situation. Books are sacred and should never be censored.
