My name is Tom Moore, the couple in the picture are our sister Kris and her husband Christopher Nixon. Kris is suffering from what we understand is a form of autoimmune dysautonomia, meaning her central nervous system is shutting down on her. The symptoms have reached the point where the next step is to get a complete diagnosis and treatment at the Mayo Clinic. We have the local neurologist's referral, Mayo is reviewing the case, and we will hear in the next week or so where she needs to go. We expect that the out of pocket expense for the diagnosis will be around $15,000, accounting for the insurance deductible and assuming all of the doctors are under their insurance coverage. Adding travel for her and her husband, temporary living expenses, and support for the two kids who are still at home (Daniel and Joseph), we expect the need for just getting through the Mayo Clinic to be $20,000.
100% of any donations will go directly to Kris's care, travel and well-being. I will personally ensure that we have complete transparency and accountability in the process. You should know that this is not a tax-deductible donation, we are just asking for help in getting Kris the best treatment as soon as possible.

The urgency is in getting Kris to the Mayo Clinic. But the administration, treatment and billing will be going on for months to come. I know that there are many worthy demands for your support.
