Kristin Aria Shaw Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Kristin Aria is an artist, massage therapist, and Celtic harp musician in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. On August 3rd, 2019, she fractured her hip while volunteering for the New Thought Center. This was a freak accident caused by a gust of wind that knocked over a tent, which in turn, knocked Kristin onto the ground, breaking her femur at the hip joint. She had to have surgery at Kona Hospital and is in recovery now.

Kristin will need to recover for approximately the next 6 months and be unable to work as a massage therapist or harpist during that time. She is in her 60s, and these kinds of injuries can be hard for even young, healthy people to recover from and return to normal life.

Thankfully, medicare will cover most of her hospital stay and medical follow-up, but she will have no income until she can return to work, so she needs to raise a minimum of $2000 per month to buy food and pay her rent and bills in the meantime.

I'm her son, Michael, representing the family, and we are doing our best to help her, but we have to also rely on the community who appreciate Kristin and her music to help support her recovery. If you can afford to help Kristin, we would all greatly appreciate any amount. If not, we understand and appreciate everyone who visits or sends their aloha to Kristin and the family.
