Kristie's Club - Kickoff!

Our wonderful friend and teacher, Kristie Holt, is currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer, which means she is away from her beloved students and her classroom team, all of whom greatly miss her presence each day. Kristie has expressed that she would like to establish a place for teens diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or developmental delays to feel a sense of belonging through social interactions and learning opportunities. We'd like to invite you to be a part of getting "Kristie's Club" up and running, and fulfill this wish for her!  Your donation will allow us to organize activities for our participants to enjoy, based on Kristie's suggestions of cooking, interactive games, crafts, incorporated interests and themes, among many other options! Kristie would like to begin on a small scale, with monthly meetings, open initially to young adults between 13-18 years of age. We are aiming for after-school hours, staffed with adult volunteers of Kristie's friends and classroom team. Kristie's long-term vision for the club would be that it evolves into an opportunity for us to expand the age range of members, and invite community-minded teens and adults with special skills or talents, to come and share with our young people.
