Kristie’s 1st marathon fundraiser

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic I entered to run the NYC marathon as a part of the Sandy Hook Promise Team. I was committed then, as I am now, to what this organization stands for.

My role as a middle school assistant principal has allowed me to work with student leaders in creating a SAVE Promise Club to help students and community members work together to support mental health initiatives and fight against gun violence. Being able to raise funds for this cause through the, now virtual, NYC marathon could not mean more to me at this time.
