Kristian's Nicaragua Trip

I'm thrilled to announce that I am one of 10 students chosen to travel to Los Cedros, Nicaragua during Spring Break for a service learning trip! The FSU College of Medicine has been visiting Los Cedros since 2008, and has been going 3-4 times per year since 2010. While there, we run a clinic for 3-4 days and see about 100-125 patients per day. Frequent visits throughout the year provide continuity of care to the people of Los Cedros and surrounding areas, as well as medications that will last until our next visit. I have heard amazing stories from students that have gone in the past, and I am honored to have this opportunity.

Additionally, I have been working on a project with other health and tech professionals to design a standardized health record system that I aim to implement into the Los Cedros community to further enhance their  healthcare.

We will be flying to Managua (the capital of Nicaragua) on March 3, 2018 and returning on March 10, 2018.

For this trip we are responsible for most of our own expenses. Any money donated will go toward my flight to Nicaragua, food, housing, and supplies that we will need while we are there. Any support will be greatly appreciated!
