This story is about my friend Kristi Frazier. I have watched Kristi as she began walking her journey with cancer and I have seen her go from doctor visit to work, to procedure to work, to treatment to work, to scan to work, to surgery work without complaining or asking anyone for anything.
Kristi was diagnosed with Stage 4 Grade 3 Breast Cancer on September 2, 2016. She began her journey having a port implant on October 3rd and started chemo treatments on October 5th. On April 18, 20107 she underwent Double Mastectomy and started a chemo drug which she stayed on until she began radiation treatment in September of 2017. After several treatments she had to discontinue the radiation due to her body not being able to handle that much radiation and it had burned her body badly. Five months later Kristi was able to start her reconstruction surgery on February 21, 2018 and will be out of work for at least 4 weeks. She will have to have another surgery on the reconstruction later this year. When she had her scan to begin her radiation back in September of 2017, the doctor found she had more cancer in her lumphnodes therefore she will be facing another surgery as well this year to remove those lymphnodes and follow that with more extensive Chemo Therapy after that. Thus missing work causing stress and worry on a body trying to heal and restore.
