Kristi was diagnosed with melanoma cancer 5 1/2 years ago and since then her life has been a roller coaster of treatments and medication. Kristi is a strong and amazing mother, daughter, and friend. She has and always will be a fighter. But, due to recent events we are starting this fundraiser to help defray costs of medical treatment, her hospital care, and her 4 children. On March 29, 2019 Kristi had a surgery procedure done in Bismarck to get a port put in for her chemo treatments. She was due to start the treatments the following week.
On Wednesday, April 3rd 2019 she was taken into the ER after becoming extremely ill. At that time they ran many tests and scans and found out the cancer had spread on her brain and was causing a lot of pressure. The size of the cancer was at a 6 and they are now saying it's at 12 stage 4 causing her to become extremely confused. They had been consulting with her doctors in Bismarck and decided it was best to Air flight her to Bismarck immediately.
After arriving in Bismarck, she was admitted to the ICU at St Alexius medical center. They have since then started radiation and chemo treatments. Kristi is also receiving steroids to help relieve the pressure on her brain.
She has now been moved from ICU to the Oncology floor. At this point we are unsure when she will be coming home. When that time comes we might have to look into some kind of aftercare for her as she is not able to completely care for her self at this time. There are many unanswered questions right now but we continue to pray, support, and love her every single day. With all of the unexpected medical treatments and hospital stay it has put a financial burden on Kristi and her family. We hope to help ease some of the stress and burden with this GoFundMe account.
