It's been a helluva year...  I said at the begining of all of this, "We’ve decided to walk through this process with as much transparency as possible- the total opposite of how we’ve experienced life together over the last 10 years, so this is the start of several new paths ahead. We are 10  (now 11) years strong, we are a kick ass family with unwavering steadfast faith, we are resilient, and together - unstoppable!" True to our commitment of transparency, despite knowing we can take on any adversity that comes our way, even with medical coverage, the medical expenses continue to mount.  This, what I am writing right this moment,  is the hardest thing for us to post. It's incredibly humbling and hard to explain.

Some of you know that prior to moving to Seattle, Kris was a polygraph examiner and a successful one at that. Her first 8 months here were spent pounding the pavement for any job after 15 years as an examiner. Even the week she was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of 2016  and all through her first and second surgeries, she continued to apply and interview for jobs.
Shoot! She administered her first polygraph in Port Angeles, WA on June 6, 2016 just hours after AFTER meeting with an oncologist for the first time!

In October of 2016, she began working as a case coordinator at a non-profit organization where she assists those who suffer with severe and persistent mental health illnesses. Three weeks into her new job, Kris began radiation therapy.  She went to work every day and at the end of each day, rather than going home- Kris went for radiation treatment --and then home. Other than this past week due to her most recent surgery, Kris had not missed a single day of work! I still don't know how she worked through radiation.

Kris hasn't been with her employer for a year yet, so she's not eligible for FMLA or short-term disability- thus, every hour of PTO she's accumulated since she started has gone towards surgery.

We have no expectation (literally, zero). We will continue to crush ALL things cancer no matter what as well as pay forward all of the love, kindness, support, and generosity that we've been shown.

We love and appreciate all of you,
Randi & Kris
