Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for all the prayers, expression of love and caring over the past few days. The support has helped us get through this very difficult time.
Many of you know that we lost my sister Kris last Saturday. She leaves behind a heartbroken family. For those who knew Kris, you know she would give the shirt off her back for anyone in need. Kris had a wicked sense of humor. She especially loved dogs and rescued many — her dog, Mama, is wandering around, seemingly lost, just like the rest of us.
Kris’s husband Pat is holding up, and he is without a doubt one of the most honorable men I’ve ever known. He has always been a rock for their kids; Tori is 25, Sammy 21, Madison 18, and Michael 17.
Friends have openly asked how they can help and where they can send money. Pat has reluctantly agreed, and we decided that GoFundMe is the best option to meet the immediate expenses. My hope is that we can save the remainder for the kids as they work through school. Tori graduated with a communications degree and is making progress, chipping away at a hefty student loan. Sammy is a full time nursing student and will graduate next year. She is also getting married on October 21, and the timing has been especially difficult for everyone. Madison will begin nursing school in January, and Michael is a junior in high school.
To say that these are amazing kids is an understatement. The loss of their mother is enormous and we want to lighten their burden.
