Kris and Paula's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
As many of us are aware, Kris’ stem cell transplant did not go as we had hoped. From June 16th to July 18th Kris and Paula were in Toronto undergoing the transplant.  They had three trips to and from Vancouver in August when the cornea began to melt. On September 17th Kris’ eye completely collapsed. They flew to Vancouver and he underwent reconstructive surgery.  It took two weeks before he could travel back home, and he had to return to Vancouver every seven to eight days for three weeks for imaging and continued medical attention. This whole time, Paula was by his side to be a medical escort and for emotional support.  This last emergency trip resulted in the loss of his eyesight in his left eye because of an infection that detached his retina.  The doctors tried to reattach it in surgery last Wednesday but were unable to save his sight.  He will need to stay in Vancouver until the infection is completely gone.  The plan at this time will be to remove the tissue from the inside of the eyeball and replace it with a prosthetic glass eyeball. Any financial support will be greatly appreciated by Kris and Paula to go toward lost wages and travel expenses.
