We Are Moving!!

VWSSP will be celebrating our 30th birthday this fall. We have come a long way since we started with a typewriter and a single advocate! We are reflecting on our legacy and our commitment to continue to provide high quality direct services to people impacted by violence, and to ensure we are providing them in multiple languages and locations. Last year we worked with over 1,600 people and recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in Victims Compensation for people who had medical bills, lost earnings, funeral expenses etc.

Now for the big announcement- We have long outgrown our current office space and needed to move. The search has been challenging as South Philly real estate prices have soared. As a nonprofit finding a location we can afford that also is central to the people we serve has been very challenging.

But with the support of our board and the community, we did it! We are moving to 1800 Jackson Street. We finally will  have private counseling spaces for clients, a room large enough for training and staff meetings, a ramp that will allow people who use wheelchairs to come to the office for services and more!

All of this comes at a price though. We’ll be paying twice as much rent and there are enormous expenses that come with moving. We need your help today.
