austin's stem cell transplant NIH

Hello my name is Helen Askins, my son Austin Cothron is about to undergo an intense procedure called a stem cell transplant toward the end of Feburary. Austin has an under lying disease called Chronic Granulomatous Disease (CGD). Chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) is a genetic disorder in which certain immune system cells are unable to kill some types of bacteria and fungi. The disorder leads to long term (chronic) and repeated (recurrent) infections. The condition is often discovered in very early childhood. Milder forms may be diagnosed during the teen years or even in adulthood. Austin has already lost a rib and a spleen due to these infections. The past four years has been rough for the family with him in and out of hospitals and surgerys. He has had over eight Picc-lines since 2010 and was also recently diagnosed with Chrones Disease this past year. And right now  he has some life threatning infections in his lungs that dont seem to be going away. He now has the opportunity to be cured and not have to worry about taking medicines to stay alive or worry about these problems anymore, thanks to a stem cell transplant. Now in order for us to take advantage of this opportunity we have to move to Bethesda Maryland for about four to five months and Austins insurance is only helping out with cost of living for the first 25 days. im having to quit my job here in Tennessee and move out of state so that we can make this happen. That means no job, no income and the cost of living in Maryland is way more than what i expected. We are gonna have to fork out of our pockets for the cost of living and housing in Maryland along with our bills back home. And right now it just seems impossible but we know God will provide.
