Edgewater Fire - Love 4 Lee Family

(Lee-sensei shown in the middle of group)

On January 21, 2015, a fire broke out at the Avalon on the Hudson apartment complex in Edgewater, New Jersey around 4:30 p.m.  A spark from a plumbing repair had ignited within the walls and quickly spread to the furthest reaches of the building. By the next morning, more than 200 of the 408 units had been razed to the ground leaving 500 residents homeless and the other 500 affected residents temporarily displaced. Being that it was a Wednesday, most residents were still at work and were unable to collect any of their belongings before the fire took them.

One of those families who lost their home in the fire is Donghun Lee-sensei and his wife, Ju Young. With all that he and his wife have contributed to their friends, family, and the kendo world, his New York Kenshinkai family would like to show their love and support for them by setting up this site for others to do the same. This will greatly help in rebuilding their lives as not all that they lost are covered by insurance.
