<div>Our dear beloved Tim was diagnosed with idiopathic Stage C Cardiomyopathy (congestive



</div>



<div>heart failure) in the fall of 2017 during a routine annual visit. Until then, Tim was



</div>



<div>asymptomatic of his unknown disease process, which left his physician astonished.



</div>



<div>In consequence of the untimely and unfortunate news, Tim made the brave decision to



</div>



<div>undergo a surgical procedure for ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) placement in



</div>



<div>January of 2018. Tim felt confident with this decision after praying with his family and



</div>



<div>making a special prayer request with Pastor James McIver of Without Limits Christian



</div>



<div>Center in New Bern NC.



</div>



<div>Pastor McIlver stated " It's best to have and not need it, rather need it and not have it"



</div>



<div>Tim continued to live life as usual, which consisted of working in ministry, carpentry, and



</div>



<div>always lending a helping hand to those in need.



</div>



<div>In March of 2023, Tim went into cardiac arrest while working, and fortunately, his ICD



</div>



<div>delivered multiple shocks, and his life was spared by the grace of God. Just two days later,



</div>



<div>Tim had a stroke, and our Heavenly Father spared his life yet again. Tim walked away with



</div>



<div>no cognitive deficits or paralysis! Hallelujah!



</div>



<div>In total Tim has had five additional cardiac arrests and shocks.



</div>



<div>As a result, Tim was forced to retire.



</div>



<div>Now, eight years after his diagnosis, Tim is unfortunately in the final stage of his disease



</div>



<div>process. Tim was admitted to Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC on July 18. Since



</div>



<div>then, Tim has undergone a second surgery for an artificial heart pump, which requires him



</div>



<div>to be hospitalized until a suitable organ donor is available.



</div>



<div>As a future transplant recipient, the cost for Tim’s care is expected to be astronomical, on



</div>



<div>average heart transplants can cost up to 1.6 million dollars.



</div>



<div>Tim will need financial assistance to relocate to the Durham, NC area for the next 2 years



</div>



<div>which is mandatory. Relocating will allow Tim to be in close proximity with his transplant



</div>



<div>team, as he needs daily and weekly visits/ testing. In addition, there will also be an



</div>



<div>expensive medication regime to minimize/eliminate any potential rejection complications.



</div>



<div>Tim will be required to stay on this medication regimen for the remainder of his life.



</div>



<div>We continue to remain prayerful and trusting that God will see Tim through yet again.



</div>



<div>The transplant physicians at Duke University Hospital have been heaven-sent, and Tim



</div>



<div>feels safe in their care.



</div>



<div>As we wait for the next step in this process, we would greatly appreciate any donations that



</div>



<div>will go towards medical bills, medications, living accommodations, and rehabilitation care



</div>



<div>for Tim's healing journey ahead.
