<div>Tom came to BNA in 2014 and from day one, he has been a hardworking, amazing coworker. He is the type that would do anything for our people, often without being asked. Not long after he transferred here, he met Joyce, his beautiful wife. Joyce is also a SWA employee, and together they share 6 children and 4 grandchildren. They both love to travel; however, they have had to put those plans on hold for the past couple of years.

<div>Tom was diagnosed with thyroid cancer back in October of 2023. After a 9-hour surgery to have it removed, he is now fighting a rare, aggressive, and terminal cancer called NUT Carcinoma. He was diagnosed with NUT Carcinoma this past March and has so far responded poorly to treatments.

<div>Beginning in April and May of this year, Tom went through several chemo and radiation treatments, with no success. Following those treatments, Tom underwent two additional surgeries in August and September to remove the cancer; however, it is rapidly reoccurring.
</div>
<div><strong>Tom has been going through his weekly chemo treatments all while still working full-time here on the ramp. He is in the process of being referred to another cancer center in Pittsburgh for a new clinical trial. This means that Tom will have to travel and incur more expenses for his treatment.</strong>

<div>Tom and his family are continuing to maintain positive outlooks during their journey, despite having experienced a series of setbacks. They are dedicated to focusing on their amazing attitude and the continued uphill battle like the champs that they have proven to be.
