On behalf of Kono Progressive Union New York, I would like to thank you all for your donations to our fundraising campaign to support the August 14, 2017 Regent (Sierra Leone) mudslide victims. More than 1,000 people died from the mudslide and flooding that hit Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown, on August 14, 2017; and thousands were displaced. Your personal commitment was incredibly helpful and allowed us to reach our goal. The funds were used wisely and effectively to provide emergency food assistance to the victims of the mudslide.
