Kitiphol Phorntavewat Funeral

Many of you may not know but my dad, Kitiphol Phorntavewat has passed away on Saturday October 14, 2017 at the rehab nursing home. My dad has been sick with meningitis encephalitis. He has been in and out of hospitals and rehabs ever since February 1, 2016. He has not been home since then. Throughout his journey he has endured many infections, wounds and a tracheostomy. He has also been through pain physically and mentally with doctors and rehab centers not treating him with the adequate care. Honestly, doctors never understood the true answer as to why my dad became so sick. Every single day of his illness my family and I visited him to make sure he was comfortable and the people watching over him were doing their job.

My dad always told us to never take anything for granted. My dad was a person who never gave up, he was the type of person to figure things out on his own. He was also very generous; he would give back to the community. He would take time out of his day to help someone in need. He cared about others and always placed others before himself.

As we move forward, my family and I will continue to fight for my dad. My dad is no longer fighting his illness. He is no longer in pain and we can finally say that he is at peace. He will continue to look over us and take care of us as we continue our daily lives. On Sunday October 22, 2017 we are hosting a ceremony for my dad to share our final goodbyes. That day is also my 20th birthday and I will be celebrating it with my dad. My birthday wish is for him to rest in peace and to watch over my family. I don't ask for gifts on my birthday, but the best gift would be your contribution for the expenses of the funeral.

Being a low income family, it is already difficult to make ends meet. Since the illness of my dad, my mom had to work longer hours. Even those efforts were not enough, the medical bills had become too expensive and we had to ask for help from family members. I also had to balance my college studies and a part time job with my family’s financial struggle. Additionally, my brother was a full time student working a full time job. We are asking you, friends, and family, to help fund our ceremony. Any amount that you give is greatly appreciated. We are grateful for your support. Please message me with any questions.
