Family needs help

My name is Drew, and my wife’s name is Lisa and we have a 5 year son On April 2019 I graduated with my Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Prairie College in Three Hills AB This past February my wife and I had heard about a wonderful opportunity in Hope Town, The Bahamas. We applied for the position of Youth and Worship Directors, and to our surprise we were selected out of many couples to move and work for 2-3 years with the St James Methodist Church. We were so excited yet scared to move, but knew it would be a wonderful opportunity for us. This past July we began the preparations to move, we packed up the house we were currently living in, We got rid of almost everything we owned, except for clothes, and items that we would be needing in the Bahamas. on August 1st we moved into a one bedroom basement suite as we were expecting we would only be in Canada for another month or so before we would be heading out. It is now September 4th and as some of you might know the Bahamas was hit with a category 5 Hurricane, hurricane Dorian. Unfortunately for us the hurricane went right through Hope Town, which has left the island in very bad shape, from our understanding almost 90% of the island has been either destroyed or severely damaged. At this point in time the government offices are closed until further notice, and the majority of the Abaco islands are destroyed.  Unfortunately for us we can only reside in the home we are in till September 31st and then we have to move on, the church in the Bahamas knew this and had planned to fly us out before the end of September, but now because of Hurricane Dorian this is not going to happen. In fact this job that we were excited about might be not happening for us at all, as right now we don’t even know if there is still a church in Hope Town.  We feel extremely sad for the families in the Bahamas who just lost everything due to this storm, however in our minds we also just lost everything. We were not physically there with the storm, but now our home and job in the Bahamas is no more. We gave up everything we had here to make the move, so all of our belongings are gone as well. Just like the families in Hope Town, we too have to start over, and rebuild a home.  And that starts with finding a place to live, and then getting everything we need to start over.  If you have any items to donate, such as furniture or if you have a place that is for rent please let us know....  Also if anyone knows of any jobs  financial help is always appreciated but we do have a lot of friends and support from family. however the Bahamas need a lot of help, especially our friend in in the Abaco islands. please consider donating to the hope town gofund me, or the bohemian red cross. the faster they get the funds needed to rebuild the faster we can go out there and help them. please help the island of Hope town https://www.gofundme.com/f/hurricane-relief-for-elbow-cay-amp-marsh-harbour?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet or donate to the Bahamas Red Cross too because that will help the other islands in Abaco
