Make a Muscle Make a Difference

I am Patrick Miller, a participant in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon to support the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This run is in memory of my father, Charles Miller, who died of cancer when I was a young boy. I have a personal goal to raise funds for the kids of St. Jude. Because of fundraisers like this no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude for anything including treatment, travel, housing, or food.  St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90% by 2020.  Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since it opened 50 years ago.

I was born with Cerebral Palsy and was told that I would always need a wheelchair, well that was not for me and through  willpower and training I went from being wheelchair bound to being a runner.  I compete against myself and, because I can, I want to benefit children with cancer through my running.
