Kou Her Memorial

Donation protected
Kou Her was a kind, devoted and creative husband, father, brother, uncle, teacher and friend. Sadly on July 13, 2019, Kou passed away while attempting to rescue his wife and three children on a fishing trip at the Wisconsin River.

He enjoyed making people laugh and passionate about using his gifts to impact others. He was always singing or humming a tune and was known to many as the “Hmong Elvis.” Kou was an instructor at Madison College and an advocate for educational access and opportunities for all ages. The family has established this GoFundMe to create an education fund for his 3 children, all under the age of 10, and support his legacy and passion for education. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

You can also donate funds by dropping off checks at any Summit Credit Union or mailed to:

The family deeply mourns the loss of Kou. We are grateful for the outpouring of love, support and prayer from the community and hearing how much Kou has touched so many of your lives. Thank you!

There are many news channels that cover his tragic accident, to name a few.
