Kossak Travel Grant Trip to Benin

Great news! As a student at Hunter College, I was awarded a Kossak Travel Grant to visit Benin West Africa this January. I recieved the maximum from the Foundation, due to their belief in and support of my studies there. Unfortunately, some expenses will not be covered by the Grant.
Some of you may know that I will be graduating with my MFA in the Spring of 2018. For those of you familiar with my artwork, I have referenced art practices used in making Benin Bocio and Nkisi sculptures for over the past 4 years. I will be traveling to Benin to study the Benin sculptures and bronzes. I will attend their national Ouidah Festival during their holiday celebrations, as well as witness their ceremonies and culture. This research will add depth to my thesis project.
With your support, I can raise much needed money for airfare, Visa, vaccination, and other travel expenses.
I also want to share with you!! Those that donate $150 and above, will receive a signed original artwork by myself! This trip is a once and a lifetime experience that I want to share with you!
