KopTalk Fundraiser

Donation protected

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent suspension of football, KopTalk's revenue has decreased by around 90%. Not only has this pandemic had a huge affect on ourselves but it has also affected some of our members who have had to withdraw their support. We have obviously not turned our back on them and never would. We always look after our own; our family. Nobody walks alone on KopTalk!

KopTalk is a fan-owned, family-run website and platform which relies on advertising and membership subscriptions to survive. It was launched 22 years ago as a hobby and to this day, still operates as such. Nobody receives a wage but obviously what is left in the kitty after paying the related bills and expenses puts food on the table and keeps the lights on at home. However, at the moment there is virtually no kitty and we are unable to pay all of our suppliers or make Government-related payments which are still due.

KopTalk needs a minimum of £650-a-month to operate e.g. Government contributions (Autonomo, for being self-employed), accountancy fees, hosting etc. This is just to enable the website to be online. It does not take into account other things that we have to pay for.

No Government assistance is available to KopTalk and as things currently stand, we believe we can survive for around a further 6-8 weeks. If football does not return we simply cannot generate revenue and we may have to pull the plug.

A number of members have made donations and we are extremely grateful for that. A list of contributors can be viewed here in the members' forums.

It was suggested to me that we publish a GoFundMe so here it is.

The current state of play is that we have 2 outstanding debts that we must clear with urgency (£683.81 + £860.00). There are a couple of additional things including monies that are owed to our tech guy for example (he backs-up the website and patches it etc and he has been very patient), but to list everything would be overwhelming and we probably wouldn't hit desired targets if they were so high.

I am setting a target of £684 and if we clear that, this will be a big help. We could then look at extending the Go Fund Me further for the second amount but I'm never sure how successful this will be and obviously a lot of people are struggling themselves at the moment and won't be able to contribute even if they would under normal circumstances.

This GoFundMe is aimed at those who are able to contribute to something that they appreciate and enjoy.

If you are an existing member or subscriber to any of my content, then by continuing that support, you are helping.

I believe that everything happens for a reason and if KopTalk is forced offline, that's just the way it's fate was to be decided. We've struggled in the past but survived. Sadly, a lot of changes and new efforts over the last year with the podcast and KopTalk.TV appears to have been undone. I'm sure we would regroup in the future if it all goes pear-shaped and I would find a way of continuing the videos and podcasts, although I also have to be able to survive personally.

So there you have it. That's my GoFundMe. I really appreciate any help that you can provide. Don't worry if you can't!

If football hadn't been suspended we would have been ok.

Stay safe!
