Kopi - Vet Bill (attack by 2 off leash dogs)

My name is Tina Johnston, and I am organizing this fundraiser for two of the sweetest, kindest & most gentle people I have had the pleasure of knowing for the last 12 yrs.

As many of you may have heard already, there was an incredibly horrific loss in our Agility Community at a large agility event this past weekend in Chilliwack BC.
A young papillon and his owners were attacked while out for a potty walk, by two unleashed dogs owned by a homeless person.
The police responded quickly and the offending dogs were picked up to be destroyed.
Kopi, the papillon, later succumbed to his injuries after gallant efforts by the owners, witnesses and the veterinary staff.
The vet bill is astronomical, despite the outcome.
Gwen & Craig are not the type of people to ask for assistance, but that does not mean that it isn’t needed or appreciated.
Although we can do very little to help Gwen & Craig to heal their minds and hearts, it is my hope that we can, as a community, help decrease the financial burden that they have endured in their efforts to save Kopi.
This is a very real fear for small dog owners, that their wee beloved will become prey.

There was a fund raising effort quickly organized at the event for donation collection, by the Event Hosts, for which we are grateful.
(Thank you to those who made donations at that time)

Our hearts go out to those directly, & indirectly, involved, from the event organizers, event participants, witnesses, friends/supporters who stepped in to do the heavy emotional lifting & most of all, to Gwen & Craig.

There really aren’t any words to ease this level of devastation.

Thank you in advance for your financial assistance as well as for your thoughts, prayers & good vibes for this grieving family.

If you are able to make a contribution, of any size, to help decrease their financial hit (Vet bill of $11K+ at last count), please do.
