Kona’s double elbow surgery
Our sweet 1&1/2 year old rescue, Kona, was diagnosed with elbow dysplasia in both her elbows and needs surgery on both
Around March we noticed her limping on and off. We took her to countless vets and told she would be fine and it was probably just growing pains. It progressively got worse and worse. We finally found a vet that would do x-rays. This was when we found out she has elbow dysplasia. It is worse in her left leg right now and extremely painful for her. We are already seeing authritic changes in her left elbow and it will only get more painful from here.
Elbow dysplasia is a development abnormality of the elbow joint in the dog. It typically shows up around 10-18months old. This causes progressive Authritis in the dogs elbows and only gets worse with time. Treatment includes pain management and surgery.
With surgery Kona can live a long and healthy life but this surgery costs thousands of dollars per leg. Any help or share is extremely appreciated.
