My name is Christina Strawberry and I am one of many grandchildren to our much loved Kokum, Linda Strawberry. On March 13, 2024 our dear Kokums home on O'Chiese First Nation burned to the ground, leaving her with nothing more than the clothes she was wearing and her purse.

Linda is 71 years old and has worked hard her whole life. She was looking forward to retiring soon to spend more time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She has always been there for her community as an active and positive member of O'Chiese First Nation, and she has always been there for us. Although she has suffered much heartbreak and loss in her 71 years, she has never let that dampen her positive outlook and she always made sure she supported others who needed help; family, friends, community. Now, we are asking our community to show up for her in this time of need. She is left with nothing, this fire has destroyed everything she worked so hard for her whole life, her life’s most precious memories, and we are absolutely devastated for her. We have started this GoFundMe to help her start over and hopefully be able to restore some of what she has lost. We are grateful for any and all donations to help her get back on her feet.
