Kodah's Knee Ligament Surgery

For many of you who know Kodah and for those who don't, he's a lovable, hyper, energetic Siberian Husky who is always a good boy . Kodah recently turned nine, on November 26th of this year.



The other week while playing in the backyard by himself for a mere two hours, we returned home to find his leg bruised and him limping. Since we do not have cameras in the back, we aren't positive as to what he did to get this injury. But from the paw print trail in the yard, we suspect that he had the zoomies and found himself sliding from a few loose leaves on the concrete and resulting in injury.

Post-Injury, Kodah was limping for over a few days and my brother and I decided to take him to the vet to find out that he has a ruptured knee ligament meaning that his knee at times is stable and in the correct position, but at the same time his knee may not be in the correct position and his knee can move freely which results in pain and him not being able to put weight on it. He currently limps around at times and other times he can put weight on it. The vet prescribed him some pain medications until we make a decision as to what we will do. 

The vet suggested surgery so that it will improve his quality of life since he is in pain now and may develop arthritis in his knee if we do not remedy it.  He will most likely be on pain medicine for the rest of his dog years if reconnecting his ruptured knee ligament to his thigh's ligament doesn't happen. The estimated cost of the procedure with post-op visits was $2600.00-$3,000.00. 

Any and all donations will help us ensure Kodah has a better quality of life as he ages and move forward with this procedure and all the expenses that it will cost us to take him to the vet. His office visit that resulted in this diagnosis, cost us $272.00 and going forward anything will help.
