Final Arrangements - Tanya's Father

In 29 days (February 20th) I will be celebrating my marriage to someone wonderful, who has filled my life with so many good memories. My fiancee, Tanya Hutchings was, until recently, busy planning the last few details of our wedding. She worked hard to make sure that it would be both memorable, magical, and something that both our friends and family could share. However, on Tuesday January 20th, tragedy struck. My fiancee's father (Tom Hutchings) passed away suddenly during the night due to respiratory complications. He was 61 years old and it was a sudden shock to everyone, especially my future wife. The father that was to celebrate with her was taken from her instantaneously. The father who was a significant part of her life was no longer around. The shock and sadness that started with a call in the early hours of Tuesday morning was almost surreal. We both can't believe that Tom is gone. Right now my fiancee is in her father's hometown of Center, TX making final arrangements for the upcoming funeral. It hurts me that I cannot do more for her, as she has gone in 48 hours from planning a wedding to planning a funeral. It pangs me to think that she has to negotiate the costs of having a funeral service with finalizing our wedding plans.
If you know Tanya, you know that she would do just about anything for anybody. If you don't know Tanya, then you know someone like her who is selfless and giving beyond reason. She feels it wrong not to help someone in need, and is always the first to volunteer when someone asks. Tanya's father and his wife were from modest means. Her father's widow is drawing what money she can out of her savings, but I know that this unexpected event has caught her by surprise too. I am trying to do what I can to help. I couldn't imagine going through what she is going through, but as her future husband I am trying to be a strong, supporting presence while she goes through the tragic timing of Mr. Hutching's unexpected death. Through this all, I have realized that life is so painfully short and that in the tough times, all you can do is lend support and kind words. Time will lessen her pain and I hope to have my smiling bride back to me on our wedding date. But for now, I am helping in all the ways that I can. I appreciate any help that anyone can provide. Tanya and I thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.
