Knights off to Nationals!

For those that don't already know the Knights are sending a cheer team to Florida and a football team to Indiana for National Championships!!
Our Newington Knights Pee Wee Cheerleaders placed 2nd at our Regional Competition and qualified for Nationals in FL in December. They have worked hard over the past 7 years growing from flag cheerleaders to the champions they are! They practice 5 days a week in August and 3 days a week in September October November, plus games every weekend and multiple competitions. They are kicked and stepped on, dropped and fallen on and still they persevere!!
Sunday our 8U football team won the 2016 SCPW Championship and was asked to play in Michigan City Indiana at the Division 3 National Championships. These boys have also worked hard this year, some being first year players developing into this an amazing team! The long hours that football requires is nothing short of exhausting yet these young players keep coming back for more and only get better!
Newington has not sent a team to Nationals since 2007 so 2 teams this year is a VERY BIG DEAL!!! The cost to the families is enormous and after a long season can really take a toll.
