My first race was a school cross country at the age of 9 and before that I had never run at all. It was a 1km race and I thought to myself that wasn't too bad. I asked my mum and dad if I could do more races and they entered me into the GCAM 2km Dash where I fell in love with running and racing. I decided then and there that I wanted to represent Australia one day at an Olympics in the Marathon.
I have worked hard since then, training, racing, parkrun, eating properly. Running is my place to get away and is my passion. Anything I could do to help make me a better runner I did.
I have consistently won Districts for the last 3 years and have made the regional team twice (2015 and 2017)Last year I had an injury and I didn't make it to State Trials which was hard but I pushed through worked harder and this year I made it to State Trials and I shocked myself and came 4th and got selected in the Queensland Team. Estatic is an understatement, I am still smiling! This will be my first ever National Championships (I am hoping it wont be my last)
The Australian Schools Cross Country Championships are being held this year in Hobart, Tasmania 11 - 14 August and it costs alot when you add up Uniforms ($330), Levys ($190), Accommodation ($430), Flights ($1200 - 2 people return), Car Hire ($250 plus $500 held) etc.... Plus I really need my mum or dad to come with me and that is a cost that our family just can't afford right now and we need some help.
If you could donate even $5 that would be great, every little bit helps us out. I would really love to be able to go to my first ever Nationals.
