Thank you for stopping by to read our story. We are so excited to continue our fundraising for our adoption!!
Back in May 2017, Brendon and I felt led to start pursuing the route of adoption. We came to this decision after years of male infertility and attending an infertility and adoption conference call Choose Joy. This conference was a special time for Brendon and I to connect with people that understood the pain, struggles, and stories dealing with infertility bring into your life. We made some lifelong friends and ultimately came to a life-changing decision because of Choose Joy.
After soaking in and celebrating this decision with our closest friends and family for a couple months, we decided it was time to announce our adoption journey to the rest of our tribe and start our fundraising! With the average cost of a domestic adoption costing almost $40,000 and it being a lengthy and trying process, we knew we wanted our friends and family to be part of our story! (At this time we started our You Caring page - you've made it here because that page no longer exists.)
The next year or so consisted of me and Brendon planning out fundraisers, connecting with fellow adoptions peers, and praying through what our next step should be. Just as we decided we were going to pursue an adoption agency and set up an informative meeting with them.. our next and craziest update happened!!
I had coffee with a sweet mom from our church to talk about infertility stories and such. After sharing the details of how Brendon and I got to the point we are in our adoption journey, this mom shares with me that her and her husband went through IVF to get their son and they have remaining embryos they would like to donate to me and Brendon! I was speechless. What an amazing gift for someone to give!!
To say this is an answered prayer is an understatement. I have always had a deep rooted desire to be a mom, but on top of that, I have desired to go through pregnancy as well.
After a couple days of prayer, Brendon and I got together with some of our closest friends to discuss which path we would take. We have decided to accept the gift of the embryos and move forward with EMBRYO ADOPTION!!
