Jesse "The Warrior" Get Well Soon

Donation protected
Jesse is the sweetest 7 year old little boy ever, from Bel Air, MD. He was a preemie, born on February 12, 2007, 11 weeks premature. Jesse has been in therapy, basically his whole life for a multitute of issues. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy in July of 2008. Jesse has extremely tight muscles in the bottom half of his body. Jesse had an intensive evaluation about a year ago and found out that not only does Jesse suffer with Cerebral Palsy, he also was diagnosed with Autism (ASD Level 1), ADHD, a mood disorder, and a language disorder. Jesse also stuggles with eating solid foods, he will only eat jarred baby food, and only a very limited number of them. All in all, Jesse has had a rough time from day 1 and is still struggling.

On January 15th, Jesse had a selective dorsal rhizotomy at John Hopkins Pediatric Hospital. A rhizotomy is a neurosurgical procedure that selectively destroys problomatic nerve roots in the spinal cord, to relieve symptoms of neuromuscular conditions such as spastic diplegia and other forms of spastic cerebral palsy. He was an inpatient at Hopkins until yesterday, January 20th, when he was transferred to Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. He will be an inpatient at Mt Washington for 6-8 weeks for intensive rehabilitation. He will have various forms of therapy throughout his whole hospital stay.

I am writing this in hopes that the community can donate to this family who is struggling to make ends meet. Jesse's mom, Amber, hasn't left Jesse's side at all since his surgery a week ago. Jesse has an older sister, Katie who is 9 and a little brother, Tyler, who is 4 that are at home with their dad, JD, that has had to miss many days of work. Of course the dad had brought Jesse's siblings to visit, but of course they have to go home and Mt Washington doesn't allow visitors younger than 7, so now his younger brother will not be able to even see him until Jesse finally gets to go home.

Jesse is in pain from this procedure, and moody, and sad, and really just wanting this to all be over with so he can go home. My heart aches for any child, especially one that I love with all my heart, to have to see them go through something so difficult.

Jesse is HUGE into wrestling. He loves to watch it. He loves to play with his wrestling action figures. He loves to announce the matches. He even memorizes them, so that he can put the matches on himself, using his own wrestling figures. And most of all, he loves to talk about wrestling! Wrestling is the biggest thing that puts a smile on his face.

I am hoping to raise money for this family mostly to help the family with travel expenses and child care expenses. The mom of course has to eat at the hospital every day, so that all adds up quickly as well.

If you can, please donate to this wonderful family! They are truly deserving of anything they receive! If you would like to send Jesse a card, or anything he might like, his mom has set up a PO Box for him. They should be addressed to James Bonham- PO Box 558- Forest Hill, MD 21050,

If you cannot donate, I totally understand that, and in that case, the only thing I ask...beg...of you, is to PRAY for this wonderful child and his INCREDIBLE parents! I will be sure to post updates about Jesse's progress as time goes. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and may God Bless You All!
