Hello friends and family,
It's been one heck of a week here in Houston. I wanted to share something that helps a group we've been volunteering with - friends and families from the Smash baseball team. Team members and their families have joined forces to serve our community. We began helping in shelters, but have moved on to physical work/labor - the boys, their siblings, and parents have been in homes, moving out furniture, tearing out floors and drywall, and trying to help people dry out their houses before mold begins to grow. It's been one SUPER overwhelming and emotional week, that's for sure!!!
This process hasn't been cheap. To help with funds, our team started a GO FUND ME account so that money collected IMMEDIATELY goes to the help efforts. We are in need of some regularly used items to help keep the process running - masks, gloves, crowbars, bleach, Rubbermaid containers, large squeegees for getting water and mud out, etc.
Any donations, no matter the size, helps. We have pictures of all receipts to show how quickly the funds are being put to use to help families in our area.
