!!! DRINGEND HILFE BENÖTIGT für Schule im Slum in Nairobi!!!

 

Liebe Gemeinschaft,

Ich hab ja bereits des Öfteren soziale Projekte in Kenia unterstützt und möchte damit auch gerne weitermachen. Denn der Ukraine-Krieg, Inflation und Corona betreffen uns nicht

nur in Europa, sondern weltweit.

Viele Schulen in Kenia waren fast 2 Jahre wegen Corona geschlossen und wurden erst im Januar 2022 wieder regulär geöffnet. Viele Kinder und Jugendliche aus benachteiligten

Verhältnissen hat das hart getroffen. Zahlreiche Jungs sind in die Kriminalität abgerutscht und wurden zu früh durch Gewalt und Schießereien aus dem Leben gerissen. Viele Mädchewurden zu früh schwanger und haben dadurch ihre Chance wieder zur Schule zu gehen,

vertan. Homeschooling war in Corona Zeiten im Slum fast unmöglich, also müssen die

Kids den Lernstoff der letzten zwei Jahre nun im Eiltempo aufholen. Zwei Jahre

verpassten Unterricht versucht die Regierung in einem Schuljahr nachzuholen. Also mega viel Stress für die kids.

 

Aber Schule ist vor allem im Slum die beste Chance, was aus seinem/ihren Leben mache und vor allem aus den Strukturen des Slums ausbrechen zu können.

 

Das Wisdom Care Center in Mathare, Nairobi steht kurz vor dem Rauswurf. Sie können di Miete für die 5 Klassenräume und das Büro nicht bezahlen, in denen 180 Schüler auf

engem Raum von 8 Lehrern teilweise ehrenamtlich unterrichtet werden. Die Schule

versucht den Kids auch eine warme Mahlzeit und Trinken zur Verfügung zu stellen. Aber

alles wird durch die weltweiten Preissteigerungen auch in Kenia teurer und viele Eltern

können sich die Gebühren nicht mehr leisten. Deshalb kann die Schule die Miete für den

Juni nicht zahlen, die aber in den nächsten zwei Tagen fällig ist. Dann müsste die Schule

erstmal schließen, was ganz furchtbar für die Schüler wäre.

 

Die Miete für ein Klassenzimmer beträgt 25€! Und fürs Office 40€. Also für 140€ können die Schüler den Juni über zur Schule gehen! Für 600€ können sie mit Essen und trinken versorgt werden.

Ganz wichtig ist erstmal die Miete! Die Zeit drängt!

 

Ich bitte euch zu helfen! 25€ sind trotz der derzeitigen Inflation glaub ich noch machbar.

Vielleicht hat jemand Bock eine Klassenzimmerpatenschaft für den Juni zu übernehmen?

Die Gelder werden direkt über mich gespendet. Also schreibt mir gerne! Ich koordiniere

das dann und möchte zeitnah noch mehr und längerfristiges für die Schule erreichen. Es

kann doch nicht sein, dass in 2022 immer noch nicht jedes Kind zur Schule gehen kann!

!!! URGENTLY HELP NEEDED for a school in Mathare slum, Nairobi!!!

 

Dear community,

I have supported some social projects in Kenia several times and I want to continue!

Because of the Ukrainian war, inflation and covid have hit not only Europe very badly but

also the whole world.

 

A lot of schools in Kenya have been closed for the last two years. Especially unprivileged

kids in the slums were hit hard. Many boys went into crime and lost their lives because of violence or gun fights. Many girls got pregnant too early and missed their chance to go

back to school. Homeschooling was not really doable for the kids in the slums. So now

they have to do the subject matter from the last two years. The government has put the

two years now in one ear. What a big stress and trouble for the kids.

 

But school is definitely the best chance for the children in the slums to make something

out of their lives and escape the structures of the slum.

 

The Wisdom Care Center in Mathare, Nairobi, is about to be kicked out of the rooms by

the landlord. They can’t pay the rent for the 5 classrooms and the office where 180

students are taught by 8 teachers. Partly voluntary. The school also tries to support the

kids during the school day with a warm meal and enough drinking. But because also in

Kenya the daily prices have gone up the last months many parents can’t afford the school

fees. That’s why the school can’t pay the rent in the next two days. Then the center would have to close on Monday which would be a desaster for the students.

 

The rent for one classroom is 25€, for the office 40€. And the costs to feed 180 students

in June is around 600€! But most important is the rent! They run out of time!

 

So again I need to ask you for help! 25€ are still something that we can afford in these

hard times of inflation.

Maybe someone wants to adopt a classroom for June.

You can directly donate to me and I will organize the transfer.

I also wanna create a bigger and more sustainable crowdfunding for the school. Coz it

can’t be that in 2022 not every child gets the chance to go to school. We can try to

change that step by step.

But now we have to act quickly that the kids can also go back to school on Monday!
