My Cancer is Back

Donation protected
Six years ago I was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer.  I had a port put in, chemo, and radiation therapy, and never completely lost my hair. Good news for a working hairdresser! I never missed a days work and have kept a positive attitude. I believe in grace and giving. I have since had many clients and friends with cancer who have leaned on me, some cured, some lost, all loved!
I was limping at the end of the summer and seeing the Chiropractor thinking I had sciatica, when walking into my house Jan 18th, my German Shepard brushed by me and the ball and socket in my hip disintegrated, leaving me hanging onto the door and unable to walk. I held on there until my 911 call was answered. I was rushed to the Glen's Falls Hospital where they found metastasized stage four lesions on other bones and my skull. I was transferred to Albany Medical Center where my hip was replaced by a specialist. Ball and socket and titanium rod down the leg. The next few days were an adjustment to the idea of stage four Breast Cancer metastasized.
I was back at work one and a half weeks later. Short days at first and already have done 10 hour days last week. I have been told that this will rear its ugly head again down the road, I am terminal and I plan to try and live every day! I will work until I cannot, travel, enjoy my children, grand children, friends and family as long as I can.
I only have Vt. Women's First insurance and it will not touch my medical bills already.
I will use whatever funds I receive to live while I can, pay bills, cover some alternative therapies I want to try, and just survive while I may.
It takes a village and I have been the village for many.
It is not easy for me to ask for help, in fact my friend Laurel is typing this, checking with me and insisting that I give my village a chance to pay it forward as I have always done.
I would be so thankful to be able to keep my modest apartment as long as I can, pay my own way, contribute to my children, and leave a legacy of love.
My coworkers are having a cut-a-thon at Avanti Salon on Ctr. Street in Rutland Vt on Sunday April 10th 2016. $20 dollar minimum donation asked. all money and tips to my fund and many stylists available, ( my co-workers, Laurel's students of cosmetology and more)
