Please help support my best friend, Kimberly Kay (KK) Bryan as she is facing the fight of her life. A few months ago, KK began having breathing issues which was followed by a cough and other symptoms. After being treated for pneumonia for a couple of months with no relief, it was found that she has Stage 4 lung cancer. As we all know, KK is a very strong willed person and she doesn’t back down from a fight but this one will be a big one and she needs our help.
As most of you know KK grew up in Quincy, Illinois. She is a Veteran having served ten years in the Air Force as a Military Police officer, her first assignment after Basic was to Okinawa, Japan where her daughter Michelle was born. She served a six month tour in 1995 during Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia after moving to Lubbock and serving at Reese Air Force Base in 1991. She has a great love for our country and is very proud of her service in keeping America safe. She found her calling in the service, so much so that she continued her service in another way by becoming a police dispatcher. She began her career with Lubbock Police Department in July of 1996, being hired as a police dispatcher. There are many stories about KK and her dispatching skills, she took her job very seriously and took pride in providing the citizens of Lubbock with service for 17 years. Her highest priority was being the safe, calm voice for the officers in the field and she was highly respected for her skills, attention to detail and fierce stance on officer safety.
KK began dispatching for the Department of Public Safety in July of 2014 and remains there to this date. The work is a little different than LPD but she has grown to love it at DPS as well. She still serves the citizens of Lubbock and outlying cities providing the same care, concern and protection as she did with her position at LPD.
KK’s loves spending time with her daughter Michelle and her 3 grandchildren; Alexandria, Kamron and Faith. She wants to watch them grow up for many years to come.
It is currently unknown what her treatment will consist of or the cost of the treatment after insurance but to help with the burden of medical bills and related expenses, this Go Fund Me account has been created.
