Elizabeth Hackwelder & Family

Elizabeth is an adorable one-and a half-year old that has been recently diagnosed with CVI Cerebral/Cortical Vision Impairment.  She has been through a multitude of testing over the last 6 months for several medical issues and went through surgery in December to repair a laryngeal cleft, replace her right ear tube, and a Supraglottoplasty to help her laryngomalacia.  This summer, her parents, Jason and Tara Hackwelder, are taking Elizabeth to multiple appointments at Boston Children's Hospital.  In addition to this trip, the Hackwelders will also travel to San Francisco, CA to see specialists in immunology, neurology, and ophthalmology.

Tara and Jason were both born and raised in the Chicora area.  They have put down roots locally, and are now dedicated teachers in the Karns City Area School District.  Elizabeth also has a big brother, Celtan.   There will be a spaghetti benefit dinner on March 22 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora, and attending the dinner is a great way to help!  If you cannot attend the dinner, why not show your support and make a donation to the gofundme?  If you plan to go to the dinner, why not mark it on your calendar for March, but also make a donation to the gofundme now?
