Arts Reach Center is a small, independent performing arts studio serving the Fort Collins, CO community and surrounding area. We provide quality performing arts experience to all students, including those who might not otherwise have the opportunity. Students are challenged to step outside of their comfort zone and try something new and invited to contribute in a positive way to something bigger than themselves. In an engaging and supportive environment, students discover and develop abilities and personal qualities that come from participating in the performing arts.
A big part of Arts Reach Center is what we bring to the public school community. Working closely with the on-site music teacher and other school personnel, Arts Reach Center brings performing arts opportunities right to the students through afterschool enrichment programs.
There are so many small and simple success stories that are often life-changing for the individual. Like, the 11-year old lead who realized, “I didn’t know I could sing like that!” or, the 7-year old who said the morning of a performance, “My stomach is all twisted but my heart is happy!” The joy in their faces as they work together, each contributing something wonderful and unique to their common effort is priceless! It’s them and their experiences that I treasure so much and hope to continue to provide an environment for them to create, discover, express, and thrive. I value the relationships I am able to build with each of my students and their families.
Why gofundme now? Arts Reach Center is approaching its first year in our current location, having previously operated for three years renting space from schools and churches. At this first year benchmark, it’s an ideal time to both reflect and project.
In 10mos (Dec 2014-Sept 2015), Arts Reach Center has:
* produced 5 full length performances
* performed 4 class showcases
* held 4 sessions of children's summer camps
* hosted 2 student projects
* provided venue for 3 independent artsists' projects
* visited 6 elementary schools through PSD's LINC program
* received QuidNovi nomination for "new small businesses that make a difference" in Larimer County, CO
As we move into our 2nd year, improvements are needed that will enhance each student’s learning experience, ensure the audience’s comfort and enjoyment, and bring more opportunities to students in need.
Funds received from gofundme campaign will be used for studio improvements including:
• ~250sqft stage
• theater curtains
• basic sound system
• stage lighting
• upcoming winter full-length productions expenses
o including: royalties, licensing, scripts, costuming, tech support, etc.
• misc studio upkeep and improvements
For every $500 raised towards these studio improvements, one student will be sponsored for a session of classes or an upcoming production.
