Help Kelly with her fight against Breast Cancer!
Kelly has taken tens of thousands of calls over her lengthy career as a 911 dispatcher, being the lifeline for so many. It is time that WE are her lifeline.
Through a routine mammogram, Kelly has shockingly been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, aka Breast Cancer. She will start treatments in the immediate days ahead. TCHP is a potent, 18-week intravenous chemotherapy regimen (Taxotere, Carboplatin, Herceptin, Perjeta) that is going to take all her might to fight through. Though Kelly is hopeful and plans to work as much as she possibly can, she most likely and realistically won't be capable of working, as what strength she will have will be utilized for her biggest fight, her life. Assuming the chemo goes, for lack of a better word, "well," she will undergo surgeries to remove her breasts.
From there, it will be an unknown and a waiting game with crossed fingers and hopes that she can ring the bell to be cancer-free.
Yaya, mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, 911 dispatcher are some titles Kelly holds high. She loves strong and fierce and shows up not only for her people but for strangers too. Whether it's helping plan and decorate a milestone party or meeting for buckets at Union, being a lifeline for the police, or giving CPR instructions to a stranger in our community; Kelly gives her all, all the time, and it's time that WE as her family, friends, coworkers, and community members show up for her.
All proceeds will go directly to Kelly for medical expenses and to help pay for life during treatments and healing while she is unable to work.
