Service Dog Training

My name is Katie Miklos and I am asking for your help to assist in the cost to train a service dog for myself. I used to actually be a professional trainer, it was my passion and I had dreamt to one day start a charity to raise and train Service dogs for veterans. I have always struggled with health issues myself, but was able to manage. When I got pregnant with my son that all changed. I had kidney infections, water on my kidneys, and my SI joints literally started to pull apart. I have severe hypermobility syndrome which has caused me to need 4 surgeries and countless procedures on my SI joints, lumbar spine, neck, shoulder, ankle, head, and hands this year alone. I'm now an ambulatory wheelchair user. I fall a lot, can no longer bend over, and struggle just to do basic things on my own such as showering and dressing. I had originally planned to train Phoenix as my service dog myself, but my mobility has become so limited that that is no longer a possibility. I'm raising money to pay for a progressive board and train. She will go in 2 week blocks at a time. The first block is $1,100, after that it is $1,200/blick and she is going to need multiple blocks until she's 2 and a half. With my husband being the only one working and me still waiting on SSDI, we need all the help we can get. Having a service dog, for me, would mean gaining back some of my independence and being able to do more with my son. My health issues have been devastating to our whole family and we are humbly asking for help. Please, if you can donate we would be forever grateful.
