Hello.
My name is Steve Rote and I am passionate about massage.
Actually I am crazily passionate about massage because it does so much good for the body and mind.
I am starting an income-generating plan so that I can start my massage business.
I want to raise $5,000.00 on Go Fund Me.
I need your donations because I need to take an Exam and pay for a myriad of start-up costs and fees.
I am soliciting your support for a goal that I am unable to reach by myself. Your donation can be of any size. Some of my friends have given me $10.00 some $200.00. It is easy to contribute and it will be hugely appreciated. I don’t have my license yet so I can’t accept pay for my services but I can receive donations for my business start-up. I estimate I will have my license by the 2nd week in March.
Here are some of the things that massage does for the body and mind: it releases cortical, endorphins and encephalons, which are good neurotransmitters, it softens fascia, and it encourages good circulation and lymph flow, and improves immune function. In a healthy person it increases muscle flexibility and relaxation, and decreases stress levels. The psychological effects are increased feelings of well-being and reduction of depression.
In interviewing people I have discovered that many people lock up their grief, loss, and stress in their muscles and I have found that the healing touch of massage can free people of both their physical and psychic pain. And it does so much for me as the massage therapist too, especially when I know it is bringing healing and vitality to my client.
I like to be generous with massage. Maybe you have been a recipient of one of my massages at the Sacred Circle Dance, or at other events. You would recognize me as the one with the purple massage chair. Maybe I have come to your home (I make house calls!) or have seen you at my new office in S.W. Portland. I have been giving away free massage for the last 2 years and I look forward to the day when I can charge for massage from those who can afford it or receive payment from insurance companies.
I am very close to accomplishing this goal but I need some capital to realize a few essential steps. The first step is for me to take a $200 exam (passed it! Feb 19th). Also there are application fees, fees for licensure, liability insurance, and fingerprinting and background checks. The total bill for Oregon and Washington licensure is about $1351.25. I have already been able to fund $249.00 of that on my own. But there is more that I need. There are also some other start-up fees, like office rent, advertising, equipment and living expenses.
