As her name indicates, baby Grace Genevieve is truly a blessing to the family and friends of Mindy and Hans Schumacher. Grace was born October 24, 2014 almost 3 months before her due date and weighed in at 1 lb., 9 oz. and 13 inches long. Her challenge was to thrive and grow in the NICU at Rockford Memorial Hospital (RMH) and the Miracle of Grace met the task!
With the excellent care received from the nurses at RMH and the love of Mom and Dad and extended family, it was a wonderful day when Grace was able to go home on Jan 17th, 86 days spent in the NICU. Mindy and Hans now enjoy loving baby Grace as a family.
We are so grateful to all who have supported the family with prayers, words of encouragement, cards, and gifts. Also, thank you to the hospital staff for their exceptional care of Grace. After such a long time, many costs have mounted that are not covered by insurance. Therefore we have created a Go Fund Me page to help the family cover medical/baby expenses. Thank you so very much for any help you can give. You can be sure the family is truly grateful and your help comes at a much needed time.
