Kenya Documentary 2014

              My name is Khiry Jimel Lee, and I am a Director and Comedian as well as the co-founder of Funarios llc. 
        I would like to begin by thanking all of you who have supported and helped propel my career thus far. Whether it was because you actually thought I was funny, or just because you wanted to see me succeed, I greatly appreciate it. The motivation I've drawn from your support has both sustained me and taken me places most would never believe were possible.

              The next chapter of my journey is beginning, and I have now been blessed with the opportunity to Direct a documentary of a mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya. Athough I only have a month to raise the funds i am very optomistic. The project Kenya 2014 June 5-15th will be completed in partnership with Bethel's Global Outreach, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Houston, whose mission is to help provide humanitarian aid across the world. You can find out more about the great work that Bethel's Global Outreach has done, and plans to do, on their website: http://bethelsglobalreach.org This will be the first production of my new company, Distrikt Productions, and my goal is to create a documentary that provides a comparative perspective of the lifestyles of people in a country and city that lack many of the resources that we as Americans often take for granted. Bethel's Global Outreach has provided me with a scholarship of $1,700 to help defray the costs of production, and I have made a down payment using the money that I have saved from my comedy shows, but I still have a number of outstanding expenses that need to be covered.
