Artist's Retreat in Costa Rica

Back in March, I met Alaine Alldaffer, the casting director at Playwrights Horizons. Alaine and I hit it off and she asked me to interview for Blue Zone, an annual retreat she holds for artists and actors in Costa Rica (http://www.costaricaactors.com/#!). After the interview, Alaine offered me a slot along with 13 other artists to go off in November for a week long workshop retreat. I put a bit down to reserve my slot but need some help with the tuition.

I've decided as an artist that I have to take responsibiltiy and share myself, therefore I should tell you that I've been grappling with my place in this business and I've tried a lot of different aspects of it: theater, voice over, writing, producing, directing, teaching, etc. I even moved to New York for several months to figure out how to really do this business. I've gone through a bunch of different headshots, my weight has yo-yo'd, I've given up, I've felt sorry for myself, and then immediately I've felt motivated, but lost and unsure of what the next step is for me.

I believe that meeting Alaine was a gift and having people like her in my career pushes me to do more and do better, for my sake but also for the sake of the business. I believe that my voice needs to be heard and every step along the way helps. Having lofty goals can be deterring, but an opportunity like this can help me realize those goals.
