We went to the Philippines this past August knowing we would see KJ. Febe's father passed away earlier this year and we accompanied her mom to help her sort out some family business. We had planned to visit Daisy, Febe's aunt, and see KJ since she lives with Daisy. KJ is Lily's cousin. They grew up together on the beaches of Hinunangan, Leyte in the Philippines until Lily reached 2.5 years old when she left with us to the States. Lily is our precious adopted daughter! She was finally reunited with KJ this summer. They were able to spend 2 days together and they were like long lost sisters enjoying each other's company, even sharing clothes! KJ is an inquisitive, smart, healthy and pretty girl. We showered her with gifts and clothes and were able to celebrate her 11th birthday with her with a special dinner on the beach with candles. Here face was glowing with fullness and joy! She was winning over our hearts–although there were no thoughts of adopting her.
Febe's Aunt Daisy had been raising KJ for the last 7 years. Febe's parents had been sponsoring her for school and we had decided to send money to help with her transport to and from school and her lunches. That was it, and we said our goodbyes. It was difficult to leave her especially after learning how her mother and father were not fully present in her life since age 3. We were on the plane to Taiwan heading back to the States when the “thought” first entered our minds!
The only way to describe it is “supernatural.” Through a movie on the plane, God was speaking to Perry about KJ's unpredictable future and His plan; adopting KJ. I don't know what your relationship with God is, but we have experienced His presence and His voice throughout our lives and this moment was one of them. He moves us to offer our lives to him in faith. This is real. The Father is making this adoption happen. And since He starts it, He will surely finish it. On the second leg of the flight home Perry was upgraded to Business Class without even asking! It was our Father saying "Don't worry, I'm gonna take care of all the financial details!".
We are just marveling and looking at Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. He is simply asking us to respond to His leading and enjoy the journey!
You are welcome to come along! This is a great opportunity for you to participate with us for KJ's future. I know for a fact KJ is super excited to have Lily as a sister! Lily is also very excited! She will have many friends, opportunities to grow and develop in things that interest her. She will get to experience God within a community of believers. We are part of a church community who have embraced Lily as their own and would do the same for KJ.
Febe personally teaches homeschool for Lily 3 days a week and would do the same for KJ. They would be part of a co-op of homeschooling families that come together for classes twice a week. Her life is about to become full of opportunities, including the chance to pursue her Father with all her heart.
We are humbled and honored by your support to help make all this happen for her... and us!
CURRENT TOTAL ADOPTION COSTS $37,505
All the money raised from this GoFundMe will go directly to KJ's multifaceted adoption; agency fees, travel plans, legal fees as well as State, Federal and International fees. Every dollar will secure her SAFE TRANSITION from living with her relatives in the Philippines to arriving in our home and becoming a US citizen here in Michigan.
Our target timeline is DEC of 2019. That is a record breaking relative adoption timeline but I know our God! He is the Amazing Way Maker & Miracle Worker.
TO ALL DONORS:
WARNING: International adoptions are unpredictable in events, timing and costs and always involve endurance, risk and real faith.

GoFundMe is a for-profit company. It takes 5 percent of donations raised on its platform. There is also a 2.9 percent payment-processing fee collected on each donation, along with 30 cents for every donation.
That means if a campaign raised $1,000 through 10 donations of $100 each, GoFundMe would collect about $82.

“What is the value of a (your) soul to God? "
Could your worth be defined by an amount of money?
God doesn’t abandon or forget even the small sparrow he has made.
How then could he forget or abandon you?
What about the seemingly minor issues of your life?
Do they matter to God?
Of course they do!
So you never need to worry,
for you are more valuable to God
than anything else in this world.
