Kitty Brew Cat Cafe

Donation protected
My name is Jennifer Barrett and I am the founder and co-owner of Kitty Brew Cafe. I started this business journey in August, but my love for rescuing goes back much farther. I have had many sleepless nights, bottle feeding orphan kittens, worrying about abandoned animals, and caring for the pets their former owners have long forgotten.

My entire adult career has been dedicated to public service. I have worked as a Probation Officer and made a career change a few years ago to investigations at Children Services. I love the work that I have accomplished and the people that I have helped along the way. During my day to day career, I was also exposed to many animals that also needed help. I spent many hours and many dollars helping clients with veterinary care or rehoming their animals. What I learned was that when you help animals, you help people.

I took time off work after having my daughter. As I was thinking about her future and what I wanted for her, my outlook changed drastically. It became clear to me what I needed to do. I needed to become the person I was instructing her to be. I needed to follow my heart, which is rescue. I began researching cat cafes. I felt this is a great way to bring people together and showcase adoptable cats and kittens. Kitty Brew will provide premium cafe drinks and snacks to its customers and the option to enjoy their drinks and snacks in our cat lounge.

The reality of a cat's life in a shelter can be bleak. It is estimated that 1.4 million cats are euthanized in shelters across this county. Any cat that Kitty Brew can save is a victory. What we will call "free range cats", truly changes their hopes for adoption. Many cats do not adjust well in a traditional adoption setting due to stress. Most cats do not like being confined and will shut down or hide. Kitty Brew will provide an interactive adoption process, where the potential adopter can see the cat's true personality. A cat that would normally not have a chance at adoption will be able to "come out of their shell" with the help of a cat friendly environment, encouragement of human interaction, and the encouragement of the more social cats.

I want to change the way people think about adoption in Butler County and the surrounding area. I want to encourage people to care and get involved in rescue and hope that it enriches their lives the way that it has enriched mine.

Kitty Brew will also have a volunteer program that will provide community service hours to students, elderly, and low-risk, non-violent offenders. Our mission is to bring people and pets together.

I am writing to ask if you will help Kitty Brew in this journey. No dollar amount is too small and any gift is greatly appreciated. Anything you can give puts Kitty Brew one step closer to saving lives. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Regards,
Jennifer Barrett
