Luca Kitson’s Fight Against Neuroblastoma

This fundraiser’s aim is to financially support Di & Jeff though what no parent should have to endure

After Years of IVF just shy of 2 years ago they welcomed beautiful twin boys - Luca & Noah.

Di has devoted time away from her boys to work as a nurse during the current pandemic.

Today everything changed.

I have included the below post from Di & Jeff via Instagram;

“ oh, life. only until this morning we were doing our day to day routine-playing, eating, daycare drop offs and maybe a drive to bunnings but instead i turned into ed, knowing something wasn’t right. he bumped his head a couple weeks ago- nothing out of the ordinary. then the black eyes started. they come and go…we went to the gp on tuesday and she sent us to ed straight away… they diagnosed him with periorbital celliltis and off with antibiotics we went. he perked up the next day but yesterday he wasn’t really himself and just as i was going to take him back to ed, he perked right up. this morning, he was fine but i knew i needed to get him checked out as i had an icky feeling. the ed team were great and knew it wasn’t cellulitis and when we met the a m a z i n g paediatric consultant, she knew he needed more diagnostic studies which i am so glad they did. i knew something wasn’t right as his hb was low but I tried to be optimistic…. until we went into a room with all the consultants and nurses and i just knew. my heart broke before they even said the words. we have a very long road ahead of us and to be honest i don’t know how i am going to cope. i am weak, broken, tired and feeling so empty. this is a place no mother, parent, child should be in. currently there is a tumour in his frontal brain- possibly more and one on his right kidney. we are being rfds-ed out to pch tonight to the oncology team. biopsies, surgery, endless tests and then the treatment. i am scared, so fucking scared. holding it together for luca and noah. just wake me from this bad dream. please. or at least swap positions with this sweet, beautiful, innocent child of mine who should be celebrating his second birthday in two weeks. please keep us in your thoughts. This Beautiful family is currently using savings in the hope of adding to their beautiful family with ongoing costly IVF.

Di & Jeff are long term Kalgoorlie residents with a scary and unpredictable road ahead. They have been flooded with offers of help which can be quiet overwhelming this way they can have time with their son and flexibility to decide what’s best for their family during this nightmare.

Di & Jeff have always supported others so I feel it’s only fair that this community rallies around them!
